Opened VTAE

After hitting a 20% + swing in VTAE earlier last month, I go back into VTAE for Continuation Anticipation type trade.  The volatility has been squeezed right out of this stock and there were a number of very tight ranged days sitting like ducks in a row.  This is a low low risk set ups as stops can be placed tight.  This type of setup can produce very power bursts. Indeed, I've already caught one in this stock.

Entry: 17.48
Stop: 16.50

I did not trade this with the size that I might otherwise have due to the number of positions I have open right now.  If I close some positions, I very well add on this one.

PBYI Opened and stopped out, VIMC opened

I  had liked this set up from yesterday and after PYBI sold off in the AM and started bouncing back I thought I might present a lower risk set up for a continuation anticiapation type move.  Although I did get a bit of a push it subsequently sold off and stopped me out at 237.50

Entry: 241.67
Exit: 237.50 (-4.17, -.6R)

The moral of the story is that on a Continuation anticipation set up the stop loss should be looser.  I played it like a momo burst trade and got stopped on noise.  The loss was small next.

VIMC

VIMC has formed a dragon  (set up 4) over the past two months.  It has since been tightening.  VIMC had earnings last night that were good but the stock dropped 10% nonetheless.  It then rallied back after bouncing on the trend line and the 50 week MA.  I viewed the reversal action given where it bounced as very positive.   I entered on the way up at 9.17.   I think a move to $10.50 is likely but I'm not going to give this much room to work.  It is either going right away or it can go without me.

New Swings- HYGS, HAWK

I bought HYGS today in a fishhook type trade- it also would trigger on the Elder Impulse . Given the strength of the V shaped recovery I thought this is worth a try.  Here's what I see.  A break of the pace of the down trend with a successful  back test. This is somewhat of a fishhook entry as the strong move held.  in at 16.06 Stop 15. 87.

HAWK:
I like this set up as it weathered the downtrend much better than most stocks and now it is flagging.  I've found that buying within the consolidation can be a decent low risk entry.  However, it might need to trade sideways for another couple of days.  It just hit the 13, so it may get a kick but I think its more likely to get its burst when it hits the 20.

Closed AGIO 1 day 9.64% gains.

My swing trade from yesterday broke out in a big way:

I sold out for several reasons I continue to be skeptical of market action so I've taken profits quickly.  Perhaps too quickly, perhaps not.   My previous C.A. trade in PANW had a similar pattern and impressive breakout only to fail the next day.

I had only planned on selling half but I got nervous as it came in more. So with that in mind, I exit with a very nice profit

Entry: 65.75
Exit 1: 72.09 (+ $6.34, 9.64%)  1152
Exit 2: 71.51  (+$5.76, 8.76)
+ 4R

Open Swing Trades: AGIO, P.

I opened up two swing trades today: one long, one short.

AGIO.  This is a Chart I've been watching for a week or so now.  It has that great flag after running up.  The market pull back did not touch it.  Although it's previous breakout out attempt failed. I felt that this on was A go.  Bought 65.75, Stop 63.75.  Multi-day moves have been rare these days  Continuation Anticipation trades but this looks as good as any.  I just wish it had more volume.

P: This is what I look for in a short.  A solid down trend.  The 13 MA is tracking it well which means the selling is relatively quick.  Then a bounce back up which initially fails. I took this at the end of the day @22.22  stop at 23.05

Opened LEAF.

Opened Leaf @$33.75.  Leaf had looked pretty strong today and held up reasonably well despite broad market selling.  Theres a clear support at the 50MA a break of which would close the trade for me.

Great weekly chart With a nice cup and handle formation

On the dailies the elder goes green right at the 50MA.  I believe this is the type of low risk entry than can be pretty profitable.   My two hesitations are that (1) the broad market continues to sell and (2) this stock has not shown much history of MOMO bursts or trending. It had an EP and then hung a flag.
