Opened BABA, CYBR

CYBR bounced at the 50 MA earlier this week and despite broad market.  I like this more as a set up on a weekly chart.  I bought here as it is "buying value" as opposed to chasing a breakout so I took an initial position at these levels. If we get our Santa Clause rally, I'll be sitting pretty. If not, my exposure is reduced by buying in this range.

BABA

Baba looked like  it would continue what it had started after its initial bounce at the 50.   I bought small at

Opened (and then almost immediately closed) BBRY, CYBR, URRE

I made a number of poor decisions and jumped in to stocks that were moving without a well formed plan.  I made money on all of them, but not much. A big $15 on BBRY. lol I need to figure out what is going on or I next time I won't be that fortunate.

My $15 gain in BBRY was probably the best decision I made as I came to my senses and  realized that I was just chasing a stock that was already extended and hoping that I would be lucky. When I realized I was relying on hope.  I realized there was no purpose of being in the trade so I cut out.  Now had I held I probably could have made a few100 bucks before it  reversed (which it did) and I could have wound up with a big loss.

CYBR:
Entry 40.77
Exit 41.15

Cybr had actually set up well after making an earnings related move.  My trade starts to work and I get nervous at the first wiggle.  Had I had actually committed to a stop this would have been a very profitable trade.  I'm trading scared, which is not a good place to be.

URRE
On Friday morning, I look at my uranium watch list I see that the price of uranium has jumped and every single Uranium stock is up sans one URRE.  Urre has the smallest float and makes big moves.  Although I don't love this type of chart set up, I hit the bid betting that it rises with everything else.

Yep. Within a few minutes its up to 2.18 at 2.20. But then the bid slides to .15 and then .13 ok I'm out for a 6.5% gain.   That's not a good way to trade.  There was no reason to sell at all.  It would hit a 2.35 HOD.

Oct 28 trades: ACHN, CYBR, LOCO, HIVE

So I just closed RWLK for my biggest gain of the month and decided to engage in some marginal decision making .

First, ACHN-- not a bad set up and this is a trade with risk management that I would take all day long.
This looked ready for a Breakout but subsequently faded.

I suppose I could have gotten in earlier and trailed this but I was hoping for a multi-day momo burst. Had I looked closer I'd have realized how rare those types of moves are in this stock. More often than not ACHN is a one and done type of stock.

CYBR
So I just made a bundle in RWLK so go back over to CYBR which often trades similar to RWLK.
While this looked promising for a multi-day move it was not to be.  I protected my capital and escaped the fade with a small profit.
Entry: 35.89
Exit: 36.03 --- Obviously a great decision to get out in retrospect as this came in hard.

LOCO
I was on an recent IPO kick so why not go for the Crazy Chicken. LOCO had a great sideways consolidation period and then the b/o

I wasn't feeling especially after CYBR and ACHN faded.  Enter capital preservation mode.

HIVE:
Then I decided to something real dumb.  I chased a momo news play (apparently they signed some deal with apple).   I put on too much size, kept a tight stop got hit lost 1.2R

CYBR

This was an attempted momentum burst trade as CYBR looked like it was ready to make a run. Unfortunately it got dragged down by broad market selling.  I opened at 31.50 and closed at 31.59 as the market came in.  If the broad markets had been stronger I would have had no problem holding this but now is not the time to be a hero.  I made enough for lunch and took risk off the table.

CYBR IPO Daytrade

I've had pretty decent success in my IPO trades this year.  Most have been very short term holds.
CYBR was one that worked out very well despite leaving a hell of a lot on the table.

I bought the breakout after it had settled down from its first trades at 23.48.  This provided a clear stop loss of about 1 point. The broader markets were rallying so I figured this could run a bit.  And it did.  As I went up over 1.50 I kept telling my self don't get greedy.  I pulled the trigger as it ran.  As it turned out I sold way too soon as it popped 30.  It's a decent win nonetheless.

Entry: 23.48
Exit: 25.40. 1R gain.
